The project My Box of STEAM, has finally produced all 36 educational boxes!!!
Designed to make learning hands-on and engaging, we’ve developed 36 unique educational boxes tailored to different aspects of STEAM, offering students an immersive, interactive experience that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation. They are sure to spark curiosity and creativity in students through the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
What are the boxes?
They are a series of educational toolkits that bring STEAM concepts to life in a fun and accessible way. Each box contains carefully curated experiments, projects, and activities that help students explore key scientific principles and technological advancements. With these boxes, we aim to make complex subjects approachable, empowering students to take control of their learning journey and see how STEAM impacts the world around them.
To make them more engaging enhance the learning process, each box has a tailor-made story or, alternatively, biographies of scientists and mathematicians. Reading them in class helps create the right atmosphere, introducing the topic step by step. It also provided multiple and further points for reflection and exploration. The stories are paired with different and varied storytelling tools that in themselves already constitute an interesting and engaging activity (leporello, cards, etc.), as well as being playful or even useful for fine motor skills.
How to use them?
Each box is made specifically to be used in a classroom, while keeping in mind specific contexts of different schools and countries. For that reason, all the boxes use only the most basic, easily accessible materials, that are affordable. For some boxes all you need is a printer, paper, glue and scissors, and you are ready to go and have an amazing STEAM journey.
Apart from the materials and the instructions on how to implement the STEAM activity itself, each box also contains 2 pedagogical sequences that will give you an idea of how to make a full class out of it. The boxes were also made to be cross curricular, so you will see some examples of how to connect the STEAM content with other subjects like language or music classes.
Designed for Impact
Whether used in the classroom or at home, My Box of STEAM offers a dynamic learning experience for students aged 6-12. The 36 boxes contain experiments of different difficulty, and they offer a lot of flexibility, so they can cater to different levels of student knowledge. Our goal is to inspire future scientists, engineers, artists, and thinkers by showing them how their curiosity can shape the world.
